Completed Project: Red Herringbone Block Paving Driveway in Enfield EN2

This block paving driveway was completed by the Verdant Vision Pro team for a homeowner in Enfield EN2. The brief was a hard-wearing, traditional-looking driveway that suits a red-brick 1930s-style house.

Materials

Brindle red concrete block paving laid in a 45-degree herringbone pattern, a charcoal block border, and a curved red bullnose kerb edging a new planting bed in front of the bay window. The paving runs up to the existing brick boundary wall and piers.

What we did

We excavated the old surface, laid and compacted a sub-base, set the edge restraints and border, then laid the herringbone blocks on a screeded bed, cut them neatly against the walls and kerb, and finished with kiln-dried jointing sand and a final compaction.

The result

A warm, traditional frontage with room for off-street parking, a defined planting bed and clean lines along the boundary wall.
